The ‘Dunbar’ sideboard, named after the Scottish town. Produced by one of the most prominent and highly regarded 20th Century furniture manufacturers in the United Kingdom, Mcintosh.
Featuring a symmetrical external design, with two cupboard spaces on either end and a bank of drawers in the middle. The internal configuration of the cupboard spaces is different on each end. One end featuring a pull out dry bar, with a different shelf layout to the opposite end. Crafted from a mix of solid and veneered teak, the build quality of Mcintosh furniture from this period is second to none.
Offered in all original condition throughout, which, overall exceptional for its age. There are some minor marks on each end, and there is some denting to the front teak strip that runs along the entire length that the legs attach into. We believe this was most likely from a hoover over the years. These dents are not noticeable unless you get down to a low level and look for them or run your hand along the front underside. There is also a stop hinge missing on one side of each cupboard space. These hinges do not affect use and only act as a stopper when opening the doors so they only open to 90 degrees. Please see the images.
Measures 213.5cm Long, 46cm wide and 76cm high
