An very honest oak cabinet by Phoenix Gallery, London who once operated out of Charing Cross. ‘They don’t make them like they use to’ springs to mind with this cabinet. Solid oak throughout, no veneered panels, nice joints on the top corners and solid 5mm think glass sliding doors on the front. The two internal solid plank shelving in the glass compartment are removeable and fully adjustable thanks to the ladder style shelf hangers. The small cupboard section has a removeable but not adjustable shelf internally. Overall an extremely solid cabinet, that will easily last another 100 years of use.
We have cleaned and waxed the entire cabinet and overall it is in fantastic all original condition. There are a few very minor marks throughout, and a couple of faint ring marks on the top. Please see the images. The glass doors are in great condition, they have a few very minor chips on the top/bottom edges but these are only visible when they are removed.
As with all out items they have already lived a 50 year plus life, so expect to find marks and signs of age to match. Any major defects or noteworthy marks are always shown in photographs, but there will more than likely be other small marks not pictured. Measures 126cm long, 35.5cm deep and 80.5cm tall. The shelf space on the bottom can be adjusted to a minimum of 15cm in height and the top shelf can be put to minimum of 12cm height. The shelves can be adjusted in increments of 1cm. The internal depth of the cabinet is 21.5cm in both sections. The cupboard section has a fixed shelf height on the bottom of 33.5cm and the top shelf is 34cm high.
